Marianna Marx is a freelance illustrator currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Her whimsical illustrations are inspired by an endless array of sources including places she has travelled to, the children that she teaches art to, vintage fabrics, changes in the seasons, nature and the human figure. The characters within her artworks are often shown in isolation, detached from any sense of reality and seeming to exist in a world of their own. Her drawings hint at a narrative, however the story behind each picture is ultimately up to the unique imagination of the viewer.
